Coolio arrested on drug charges
Grammy-winning rapper Coolio was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a spokeswoman for the airport.
Coolio, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr., was taken to the Van Nuys Division station for booking, the spokeswoman said.
A source at the airport's public relations division confirmed the arrest but declined to be named.
Coolio is best known for his 1995 hip-hop hit "Gangsta's Paradise."
Efforts to reach his publicist were unsuccessful.
Smuggler with broken leg wears cocaine cast
MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- Spanish police arrested a man arriving at Barcelona's airport from Chile after determining that the cast on his fractured left leg was made of cocaine, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Friday.

The 66-year-old Chilean man had an actual fracture of two bones below the knee, but the police suspect that he, or accomplices, may have intentionally fractured it, so that the cocaine cast could be applied.
The plan, police say, was to get past police controls because of the leg cast, meant to elicit sympathy, but also to have a real fracture in case police decided to X-ray it.
Police were scrutinizing passengers arriving on the flight late Wednesday from the Chilean capital, Santiago, when they became suspicious of the man. They quickly discovered cocaine hidden in his luggage, in a six-pack of beer and also in the aluminum legs of two stools he was transporting.
Then they applied a substance to the cast, which showed that it was made of cocaine, the statement said.
In all, police said they seized 4.8 kilograms (10.5 lb) of cocaine.
The suspect, identified only by his initials J.S.P.F., was taken to hospital to have his leg properly treated. He remains there, under police guard, a police spokesman told CNN.

Missing NFL player's family says the've given up search
(CNN) -- The family of an NFL player that had vowed to continue the search for him and two other boaters missing off the coast of Florida announced Friday that they are giving up."Thursday at 5 p.m., we received new information on the events of last Saturday and decided to discontinue the search for Marquis," Bruce Cooper, Marquis Cooper's father, said in a written statement.
"We want to thank everyone in Arizona, Tampa, and all over the United States for their thoughts, well-wishes, prayers and volunteer efforts on our behalf. We especially want to thank the members of the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Air Force, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife agency for their extraordinary and courageous efforts to rescue Marquis and his friends."
Oakland Raiders linebacker Cooper, NFL free agent Corey Smith and William Bleakley, a former college football player, went missing after their fishing boat capsized Saturday. Authorities think the boat flipped as the men tried to lift anchor.
The Coast Guard rescued one man, Nick Schuyler, on Monday but called off the search Tuesday, saying that any other survivors would have been found by then.

Newcastle's Owen ready for 'cup final' comeback
Newcastle United captain Michael Owen is gearing himself up for a 'cup final' as he prepares to return to action.The 29-year-old England striker is in line to make his comeback from an ankle ligament injury, which has sidelined him since the end of January, when the Magpies face a must-win Premier League match against Hull next weekend.
In his absence, the men from St James' Park have slipped to within a point of the relegation zone and are in real danger of relegation.

Beckham to stay at Milan
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the Italian club are only "hours" away from agreeing a deal with Los Angeles Galaxy for David Beckham to remain on loan until the end of the Serie A season.
The former England captain, who is contracted to LA, is due to return to Major League Soccer on March 9 but the Rossoneri have been so impressed with his contribution they are keen to keep him at the San Siro.
A deal to sign Beckham on a permanent basis fell through last month after the US club demanded a fee of £12m, but Milan are now close to agreeing a contract to extended the original short-term loan deal until the end of May.

The success of the horrendously lazy Eminem/Dr. Dre/50 Cent single "Crack a Bottle" has been making the radio a whole lot less listenable in recent weeks, but it looks like it'll have at least one potentially great side-effect: Eminem's album now has a release date!
On May 19, Relapse, the first Eminem album since 2004's puzzlingly awful Encore, will finally be out on Interscope/Aftermath/Shady. And according to a new press release, Relapse won't be the only new Eminem album out this year. Before 2010, Em also plans to release Relapse 2. Given how many times Em's pushed back the first Relapse, I'd be shocked if we actually see Relapse 2 anytime soon, but that's what the man says, anyway. (When we last reported on Relapse, Em was saying it would be out by the end of 2008, so take that into account.)

Megan Fox is on the fast track to becoming the Unthinking Man's Angelina Jolie.
According to the Hollywood Reporter she’s in the final stages of a deal to star with Josh Brolin and John Malkovich in "Jonah Hex," a Warner Bros.' action flick based on a DC Comics western tale. She’s also hitched to star in and develop "Fathom," Fox Atomic's comic book-based underwater action adventure.
In "Hex," Fox will play a gun-wielding babe who helps track a voodoo doctor (Malkovich) trying to raise an army of zombies.
In "Fathom,” she plays an aquatic humanoid who has the ability to control water.
Keep an eye peeled for our sexy Fox in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" this summer.

Robin Williams hospitalized with heart issues!
Frantic funnyman Robin Williams was hospitalized with heart trouble Wednesday in South Florida.
He's in the ICU.
According to the Miami Herald, the comedian, 57, complained of shortness of breath yesterday.
He canceled all four South Florida performances of his one-man show "Weapons of Self Destruction" after doctors evaluated him and recommended a week of rest.
Williams has been on an 80-city tour since September and has done shows in 11 cities over the past three weeks.
That's a lot of traveling and a lot of shows.
He reportedly will be back on stage Monday in Jacksonville, Fla.

Daft Punk to Score Tron 2.0? Can it really be?
Daft Punk might be writing the original score for Tron 2.0, Disney's sequel to the so-obsolete-it's-incredible 1982 evil computer movie, according to Upcoming Film Scores. This is such a perfect pairing, we hope against hope it's true. (Representatives for the band have yet to respond to requests for confirmation.)
UPDATE: Billboard confirms that Daft Punk will indeed compose the score for the film, which they report is called TR2N. Billboard goes on to say the electronic duo is planning to record the music at their studio in L.A. Yet, a publicist at Daft Punk's label would not confirm the project, referring to it as a "rumor" even after the Billboard story. Our fingers are still tightly crossed.

Arena expects Beckham to return to Galaxy
The David Beckham saga took another twist tonight when Los Angeles Galaxy coach Bruce Arena insists the England midfielder is expected back in the United States next week.
But Beckham's team mates don't seem to share their coach's certainty that he'll return to LA when his AC Milan loan spell expires.
Despite speculation that an agreement was close between the Galaxy and AC Milan to allow Beckham to stay on loan with the Italian club until mid-July, the former Manchester United player was named in the Major League Soccer club's 24-man roster for the forthcoming season, which starts later this month.
Beckham, who wants to stay in Italy's Serie A, is due back in LA when his two-month loan agreement with Milan expires and Arena told the Los Angeles Times today that nothing had altered as far as he was concerned.
"There's nothing that's been stated publicly that he's leaving,'' Arena said. "No-one has said he's leaving. We've been consistent from the start. We have players out on loan. We expect them to be back on March 9.

Manny back in Dodger Blue, Accepts $45M deal
After months of back-and-forth negotiations, a meeting Wednesday between Manny Ramirez, his agents and Los Angeles Dodgers management has culminated in a deal in principle with the slugger for $45 million over two years.
Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti would not confirm that a deal had been reached, but sources said the only remaining obstacle is for Ramirez to pass his physical in Los Angeles.
"We got a great meeting," Ramirez told KCAL-TV as he emerged from his physical in suburban Inglewood. "I'm happy to be here. We got some unfinished business, and that's why I'm here."
Ramirez was expected to undergo the exam later Wednesday in Los Angeles. If it goes accordingly, the Dodgers might make an announcement either later in the day or Thursday.
